Vitality qualify for BLAST Premier Spring Finals

G2 will have another shot at making it to the Spring Finals through the Last Chance Stage.
Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam was not able to get one over his former teammates at BLAST Premier Spring Groups, as Vitality — with Mathieu "MaT" Leber filling in for Danny "zonic" Sørensen behind the players — defeated G2 2-1 to punch their ticket to the BLAST Premier Spring Finals.
G2 got off to a slow start on Inferno, the series’ first map and Vitality’s pick, going down 1-6 on the CT side before Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov spearheaded G2 into turning the tides of the half, winning it 8-7. That wouldn’t prove to be enough, however, as Dan "apEX" Madesclaire and his men gave up just two rounds while on the defense to secure their map 16-10.

Mirage, G2’s pick, was a one-sided affair from the start, as the team led by Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen imposed their will on the attack from the get go, only allowing a smattering of rounds from their foes. NiKo shone in the 11-4 half before he and his team went on to play a clean CT side, winning five rounds in a row to close out the map in style, 16-4.
Dust2, the decider map, was unlike the previous as it had a wild start with back-and-forth rounds as G2 tried to break Vitality’s defenses and keep the CTs on their feet. They weren’t able to, though, as the French-Danish squad ended up taking control late in the half to get ahead 10-5 with Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut putting in a highlight ace at 6-5 off the back of a perfect flashbang by apEX on short.
G2 weren’t able to take control on the CT side after losing the pistol round, and were playing catch-up with Vitality, who inched closer and closer to winning the map as they hit match point, 15-8. NiKo and company were then tried to put together a comeback, but to no avail, as the French-Danish team closed things out 16-12 to seal their pass to the Spring Finals.
G2 will face MIBR on Sunday at 13:00 for one last chance at making it to the next round, the Spring Finals, while the loser will be sent down to the Showdown.
